Our mission statement here at FBC Thurmont is simple:
“Love God, love others, serve the world.”
We believe that if we are engaged in doing these three things, God’s Kingdom will be advanced here within our four walls, in the homes of those in our community, and ultimately around the world.
We have seven values that guide how we do ministry:
Scripture— It is God’s word to us.
Relationships— We weren’t designed to do life alone. We thrive in community with God and others.
Unity— We desire a spirit of oneness to build the kingdom of God.
Groups— Our spiritual growth happens in the context of life-groups. Groups are where we learn and grow and fellowship.
Relevance— We desire to connect in ways that are responsive, forward-thinking , and culturally engaging. There is nothing more relevant than the Gospel, which has the power to change hearts.
Missional–living— We want to be missionaries of Jesus that are led by his Spirit throughout our community.
Generosity— We want to give our time, talents, and finances to the work that God is doing.
